News Reporter, NBC 5 Chicago

About the Role

NBC 5 Chicago (WMAQ) and is seeking a dynamic, engaging and enterprising multiplatform storyteller. This person should be a news breaker that our viewers trust and want to watch as they’re getting answers on issues that affect their lives. They will focus on audience impact and providing context for stories of multiple lengths and formats across linear television, streaming, social media, and digital publishing.

Why This Role Matters

Trust is at an all-time low in many parts of everyday life. Our communities need journalists who fight for them, explain why a story matters and tell it through people they can connect with. That means making complicated topics easy to understand, delivering clear takeaways and reporting with empathy. We need someone who feels relatable and authentic—someone viewers trust to have their back and help them better understand the world they’re living through.
