Buyer

Mueller, Inc., part of Cornerstone Building Brands, is looking for a Buyer to join its Ballinger,TX location. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for metal roofing operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards, supplier reliability, and timely delivery to support production and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase metal roofing materials such as steel coils, aluminum sheets, fasteners, coatings, insulation, and accessories

• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, mills, and distributors

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and production teams to maintain optimal stock

• Issue purchase orders and track order status to ensure on-time delivery

• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery reliability

• Stay informed on market trends, including metal pricing fluctuations (steel, aluminum, etc.)

• Collaborate with project managers and estimators to forecast material needs

• Resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or defective materials

• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
