Deputy Director

The incumbent serves in the Senior Executive Service position as Deputy Director and a key advisor to the Director, Office of Research and Engineering, in the National Transportation Safety Board. The Office provides and directs specialized scientific and technological support for accident investigations and safety research studies in all transportation modes. The office has five divisions: Materials Laboratory, Vehicle Recorders, Vehicle Performance, Medical Investigations, and Safety Research.
