Solutions Engineer, Pre Sales

Anrok is the leading AI-driven tax automation platform enabling businesses to expand globally without compliance complexity.

As the digital economy has grown 6x over the last decade, software businesses have gone from not worrying about sales tax to needing to monitor exposure, calculate rates, and file returns across 20+ US states and many countries worldwide. This creates a critical bottleneck for companies that should be able to transact with customers everywhere.

Anrok eliminates this complexity by connecting with billing and payment systems to automate tax monitoring, calculations, and filing end-to-end. Our unified platform handles the ever-changing maze of tax laws at municipal, state, and federal levels—so companies can focus on growth, not compliance.

Our customers include:

- 40% of Forbes Top 50 AI companies

- 20% of Forbes Top 100 Cloud companies

- Top companies like Notion, Anthropic, and Cursor

We're making compliant digital commerce a reality for companies big and small, backed by over $50M from leading investors including Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.

We're seeking a Solutions Engineer to drive revenue growth by guiding strategic customers through complex technical integrations. You'll be instrumental in moving Anrok upmarket, working at the intersection of sales, product, and engineering to close deals and ensure successful implementations. You'll become the technical expert customers rely on by mastering our API capabilities, understanding complete quote-to-cash workflows, and developing deep expertise in sales tax compliance and third-party billing integrations (Stripe, NetSuite, and more).

Working closely with Sales, Activation, and Product/Engineering teams, you'll bridge the gap between technical possibility and business outcomes. You'll help drive continued rapid growth and establish Anrok as the definitive solution for software sales tax automation.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

- Play an integral role in the standardized Anrok sales process, helping achieve key milestones and exit criteria to effectively move customers through their evaluation process while working closely with Account Executives on deal strategy

- Become an expert in the various paths to integrating with Anrok between pre-built integration functionality, our APIs, and billing workflows

- Consult with customers and prospects to design and execute on the best solution for their specific business, serving as the primary technical contact from presales through implementation

- Act as a trusted advisor on sales tax compliance, Anrok's platform, and API integration best practices for prospects, customers, and partners

- Work closely with our Onboarding teams to provide effective and efficient technical support through implementation

- Serve as the voice of the customer by gathering technical feedback and requirements from prospects and customers, then partnering with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap decisions and drive product improvements

- Break down complex technical challenges and concepts for internal and external teams, to foster shared understanding and a clear path toward resolution

- Design workflows to effectively prioritize and manage live calls, email responses, documentation of implementation paths and decisions, and other strategic projects

- Help surface and implement new ideas, such as improving our technical documentation or designing new demo functionality for our third party integrations

WHAT EXCITES US

- You have 3+ years of experience as a Sales or Solutions Engineer.

- You thrive in understanding complex problems, crafting inventive solutions, and mapping out a clear path forward and executing on it.

- You’ve got extensive experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and integrations

- You’re as comfortable speaking with business executives and non-technical teams as you are with developers and technical stakeholders.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to stay organized, are a must.

- You love to learn, and are capable of building deep expertise in new industries and products quickly.

- You enjoy designing and executing on new cross-functional initiatives and are comfortable leading a project where you have to gain buy-in from various leaders.

- You enjoy playing a key role in the sales cycle and contributing to the bottom line.

- You’re curious and motivated to learn new tools — you've experimented with AI in your work or on your own, you're excited about what's possible, and you've built something with it (an application, a workflow, a creative solution to a real problem) that you can walk us through.
