Director of Finance Technology and Transformation

Our Mission

You call. You wait. You call again. In every other part of your life, you book in seconds. In healthcare, you’re blocked.

We’re here to give power to the patient.

For nearly 20 years, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace - helping tens of millions of people find and book the care they need. Now, we’re going further: building our infrastructure beyond Zocdoc’s marketplace to power access to care wherever patients search, from provider websites and insurance directories to search engines, AI platforms, and more.

Healthcare still lacks something every other major consumer industry takes for granted: a seamless way to go from seeking to getting. We don’t want to own the front door to care; there isn't one. We want to make sure all of those doors open when patients are knocking.

Fixing healthcare starts with fixing access to it. And we're still just getting started.

Your impact on our mission

We’re looking for a highly analytical, technically minded builder to lead the evolution of the technology and processes that power financial planning and decision making at Zocdoc.

In this role, you’ll own the strategy, roadmap, and continuous improvement of Finance Technology across Strategic Finance and FP&A, with a particular focus on planning and forecasting. You’ll own modernizing our enterprise planning platform, systematize workforce planning, improve reporting and decision support, and define practical ways to use automation and AI across Finance.

You'll partner closely with Strategic Finance, FP&A, Finance Systems, Accounting, Data & Analytics Engineering, HR Systems, and IT to translate Finance business needs into scalable technology solutions.

You will define the planning technology roadmap and oversee the business workflows that the technology enables. The opportunity is to build a more scalable Finance Technology capability while remaining close to the day-to-day problems and decisions of the business.

You’ll enjoy this role if you are…

• A builder who enjoys improving planning systems, processes, and technology to solve complex business problems.

• A pragmatic operator who can deliver useful improvements quickly while designing for a scalable future state.

• Comfortable working at the intersection of Finance, Technology, Data, People, and Operations.

• Energized by workforce planning, scenario modeling, and the messy cross-functional dependencies behind headcount and compensation planning.

• Passionate about using automation and AI to reduce manual work, improve forecast quality, and help Finance make better decisions.

• Comfortable partnering with Finance leaders, Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Data, IT, HR Systems, Recruiting, and external software vendors.

• A structured problem solver who can navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing opportunities, and drive complex cross-functional initiatives.

• Opinionated enough to challenge assumptions while remaining collaborative and practical about tradeoffs.

• A clear communicator who can translate technical concepts into business outcomes for Finance and executive stakeholders.

Your day to day…

• Own the strategy, roadmap, governance, and ongoing evolution of Finance Technology across Strategic Finance and FP&A, including enterprise planning (Planful), forecasting systems, planning processes, reporting capabilities, automation, and AI enablement.

• Build a scalable approach to workforce planning across Finance, Recruiting, People Systems, senior leadership, and hiring managers to best support financial planning and companywide strategic planning.

• Partner closely with Finance leadership and senior executives across the business including Product, Technology, and HR to understand business needs, identify opportunities to improve planning capabilities, and prioritize Finance Technology investments.

• Evaluate Finance technology investments, including enterprise planning capabilities, automation opportunities, AI tools, and build-versus-buy decisions, developing recommendations for Zocdoc leadership.

• Translate Finance business requirements into technology roadmaps, partnering with Finance Systems, Data & Analytics Engineering, HR Systems, IT, and external vendors to deliver scalable solutions.

• Lead the implementation, integration, configuration, adoption, and optimization of planning and forecasting capabilities.

• Identify opportunities to automate recurring planning, forecasting, reporting, data-ingestion, variance-analysis, and commentary workflows.

• Evaluate practical uses of AI within existing Finance systems and processes, with appropriate consideration for data quality, security, compliance, controls, and adoption.

• Establish governance and best practices for planning systems, financial models, forecasting processes, data ownership, testing, and change management.

• Lead cross-functional technology initiatives from business case through implementation, driving stakeholder alignment, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.

• Support strategic initiatives and high-priority projects that strengthen Finance’s ability to scale alongside the business.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

• 10+ years of experience in FP&A, Finance Systems, Corporate Finance, Finance Transformation, or another analytical role supporting financial planning technology.

• Experience owning Finance technology strategy, including enterprise planning systems, forecasting processes, and the technology roadmap supporting financial planning.

• Experience leading one or more enterprise planning system implementations or major enhancements (Planful, Adaptive, Pigment, Anaplan, or similar).

• Deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.

• Experience translating Finance business requirements into technology strategy and partnering with Finance Systems, Data & Analytics Engineering, HR Systems, IT, and external vendors to deliver scalable solutions.

• Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.

• Experience evaluating Finance technology investments, automation opportunities, and emerging AI capabilities to improve planning processes and team productivity.

• Strong project management, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to prioritize competing initiatives and drive measurable business outcomes.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations for Finance and executive leadership.

• Relevant experience in technology, SaaS, healthcare, or marketplace businesses is a plus.
