Steel Fabricators, LLC
As a Lead Fitter/Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating a wide range of miscellaneous metal projects. This includes cutting and welding metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment.
Minimum Starting Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour - depending on experience
Nights: Monday - Thursday 4:00pm to 3:00am - Plus a $2.00 shift differential
Essential Functions:
• Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Maintain, organize, and keep work area and equipment in operating condition.
• Hand-weld and/or flame-cut equipment to join metal components.
• Cut and scarf using an oxy-acetylene torch.
• Structural welding using FCAW & SMAW.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
• Properly assemble and disassemble weld setups.
• Remove high spots and cut bevels using hand files, portable grinders, and cutting torches.
• Reshape metal workpieces to establish specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of metal and basic shop fabrication equipment.
• Knowledge and proficiency in MIG welding with the ability to pass a welding test.
• Knowledge of TIG welding is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to withstand pressure and adapt to change.
• Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines.
